Prayer

People don't like asking for help. Sometimes pride stops us. Sometimes it's just the opposite – we feel we shouldn't ask, or we don't deserve it. Most of the time, it is doubt that stops us – we don't really believe help will come. Or maybe it will come at a cost?

"Call to Me and I

will answer you."
Jeremiah 33:3

Listen. God loves you. Profoundly. He knows every hair on your head. He holds every tear you will ever shed. He shed His Own tears and blood over you. And He is alive right now, standing in Heaven, interceding for you. His Spirit searches our hearts and prays for us with groans that words cannot express. He camps around those who love Him, and commands His angels concerning you. You, Beloved, are the work of His hands, His precious child, bought by His blood and called by His Name. He will not fail to hear you and answer. He is able – more than able.

How To Pray

God makes this point very clear in the Bible, over and over again: Come and pray to Me, and I will help you.

God is ready to listen to you any time of the day or night, about anything. The Bible actually instructs believers to pray continually without ceasing, in all circumstances and about everything.

No special prayer is required. God only wants you to come to Him with your whole heart. Trust Him, and just tell Him what is on your heart. The Psalmist says,  "Cast your burdens on the LORD and He will sustain you…" Psalm 55:22.  And the apostle Peter writes:  "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7

Pray in faith, trusting that God hears you, that He cares deeply for you, and He is able and willing to help you. Jesus teaches us to ask, and to keep asking, and He promises that it will be given.

Let the teachings and prayers from the Bible help you as you pray to God yourself. These prayers always begin by stirring up our faith – remembering Who God is, what He has said and what He has done before, and then believing that He will do it again. God does not change. Finally, know that God has heard you, so you can just thank Him, and expect His Answer.
